We Provide the Fireworks; You Do the "Oohs" and "Ahhs"
After talking to countless gamers, professional and casual alike, we have discovered that it is pretty well agreed upon that graphical splendor is a big part of the gaming experience. After conducting this research we felt an awful lot like Nostradamus, considering we knew they were going to say that before they did. Imagine playing World of Warcraft and you come across a huge Orc Warlord... thing. Imagine your computer having the wherewithal to not only render the Orc in full detail, but to be powerful enough to vividly show the wrinkles in his skin, the hair sprouting from his unspeakables, and the boogers protruding from his nostrils. Up until a few months ago this was all just a dream (a weird one). Now, pair two AMD Radeon HD 3870 video cards in CrossFire on a capable motherboard with a powerful processor, sit back, relax, and prepare to be flabbergasted.

The More the Merrier
Processors today have advanced far beyond the point many people ever thought possible. A single processing core can perform billions of calculations every second. A dual-core processor can perform twice as many. A quad-core processor; twice as many as that. Four processing cores in a single package from AMD will allow the end-user to achieve a performance that is sometimes mind-boggling. The Phenom 9600 processor is at the heart of AMD's new Spider platform and is a capable gaming workhorse. Paired with a motherboard based on the 790 chipset and at least one AMD video card, the Phenom processor will enable AMD's Overdrive control software, which gives you complete command of your system. Listen to some music and play your favorite game while encoding a video and rendering your school project in the background. It's all possible with quad-core technology from AMD.

Because Losing Your Memory Sucks
This section could have been titled, "Losing Because Your Memory Sucks", but for some reason we didn't use that. Both are true statements anyway, and the latter is one that occurs all too often when gaming on underpowered rigs. Vigor helps out by equipping your PC with RAM on an all you can eat basis. Want to run Windows Vista with no problems at all? We recommend 2GB for that. Want to play a demanding game like Supreme Commander on Windows Vista WHILE listening to music and chatting with friends? We suggest you land somewhere in the 4GB ballpark for that. If you're considering a notebook PC, divide these numbers by 2. Gamers tend to not be the most patient people in the world, and that is why having more memory is a must for any serious player. Eliminate waiting times and increase your productivity with more RAM.

A Force to Be Reckoned With
When you buy a computer from Dell or HP, you get what you pay for. It doesn't take much for a system integrator to pop in a processor, slap in some memory, and ship out a finished product. At Vigor, we believe we owe it to our customers to go a few steps further. Just give us the word and we will do it. We will do something to your computer that few other system integrators do. We will ship your new computer to you overclocked straight from the factory. Overclocking is means of tweaking your computer in way that speeds it up significantly while maintaining stability. With overclocking you get more performance for less money, with Vigor Gaming you get more than what you pay for.

Not Quite a Changing of the Guards
We aim to provide only the best gaming experience possible. Because of this, we currently recommend Windows XP as the primary operating system in all of our newly-built rigs. Windows Vista is here, yeah, but currently there are certain compatibility issues with games and video card drivers that make it an inferior operating system for gaming. It looks really cool, but if you can't play games on it as well as with XP, then it just won't do. Of course we offer Windows Vista and we firmly believe that most everyone will be using it within a year, so if you would like to go that route, the option is certainly there. All of our machines will run Vista flawlessly, and depending on what video card you select, will run it with all of the features enabled. Windows Vista will be ready for full adoption and hopefully it will be ready pretty soon. When it is, we'll let you know. Until then, XP is the only option for the serious gamer.

A Modest Proposal
At Vigor Gaming, we know you have a lot of choices when looking to buy a fully-assembled computer. We also realize that you may be tempted to go with a bigger name manufacturer just in case you run into problems down the road. However, the one thing we know that most other system integrators don't seem to understand is that, for the most part, all computer components are created equal. You can buy a computer from two different system integrators with identical parts that will run pretty much the same. In fact, you will find that reviews on hardware sites tend to focus more on the customer experience than the performance of the computer itself, since benchmark scores are pretty similar across the board. And, luckily for us, it is the arena of customer experience in which we excel. First of all, we don't charge an excessive premium for your system. Gaudy excess is not something we consider mandatory. Our professional system builders will piece together your computer with care and precision, make sure everything is nice and tidy, and ship it out not when it's done, but after it has been tested and performance has been ensured. Down the road, our support staff will be waiting for your call specifically. We don't get nearly as many calls as our larger competitors, so we have a lot more time to spend on each individual call. You might label it the "Vigor Advantage" - we just call it taking care of our customers.
