Vigor Gaming Announces "Penryn" Desktop Gaming System
Based on Intel's Core 2 Extreme Quad 9650 Processor

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA (December 12, 2007) - Vigor Gaming, a developer of custom gaming rigs and high-end peripherals, today announced the Force Recon BT - a desktop gaming rig built with Intel's new Core 2 Extreme QX9650 "Penryn" processor.

Vigor Gaming's Force Recon BT is geared to gaming enthusiasts and multimedia users. The new Intel quad-core CPU, a 3GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9650 chip, is the first CPU to be built around the 45nm "green" manufacturing process. This new chip design boosts energy efficiency, and cuts lead completely out of the design.

The QX9650 CPU also includes Intel's new SSE4 instructions, which can greatly speed up tasks such as video encoding, 3D gaming and graphics, image processing, and video processing (in all applications written for SSE4). The QX9650 incorporates a total of 12MB of L2 cache. Each dual-core die contains 6MB of shared L2 cache.

Base price of the Vigor Gaming Force Recon BT is $2599 with many self-build options, and is available direct from Vigor Gaming at www.vigorgaming.com.

A performance Force Recon BT system built for gaming enthusiasts and multimedia users would include the QX9650 Penryn CPU mounted to an Intel DX38BT "BoneTrail" gaming motherboard with twin ATI Radeon 3850/3870 512MB DDR3/4 video cards.

Memory and storage includes 2GB of Kingston DDR3 1800 MHz memory (2 X 1024MB); a pair of 1-terabyte SATA II hard drives at 7,200 RPM; an internal SATA 18X DVD+/-RW + CDRW rewritable combo drive with bundled DVD/CDRW software; and 1.44MB 3.5" floppy drive. A Dolby 8-channel Home Theater Audio subsystem is also offered.

The Vigor Force Recon BT includes onboard Gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) PCI Network Card. I/O PORTS for adding peripherals include 2 eSATA, 1 IEEE 1394 Firewire and 12 USB ports.

The components are encased in a Vigor ALPHA FORCE screw less chassis with Vigor's Typhoon Air Ventilation System. The Vigor enclosure is obsidian black and can be custom-painted. Vigor tackles system cooling by using its patented Monsoon II TEC (Thermal-Electric Chip) CPU cooling system. The system is powered by a Tagan TG1100-U96 TurboJet NVIDIA-SLI Certified 1000-watt power supply.

All units are loaded with Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Home Basic Edition with original DVD. The Vigor Force Recon BT is backed by a three year limited parts and labor warranty. The MSRP price of this custom-built rig as configured would be $3999 (US).
